The world’s most recognisable cargo box — sliced open and ready for war.

The Black Ops Models 20 Foot Shipping Container Wedge Kit delivers a fully detailed, highly accurate intermodal container cross-section in 1/48 scale. This isn’t a full container — it’s something more useful. The wedge format gives you maximum visual impact in minimum real estate: a forced-perspective slice that reads as a complete, believable environment the moment figures and stowage hit the deck.

Choose open or closed doors. Paint your choice of four real-world shipping company liveries using the included professional Orafol 810 spray masks. No decals. Just crisp, sprayed paint that weathers like the real thing.

What Is a Wedge Kit?

A wedge kit is a cross-section — a deliberate, angled slice through a larger structure that reveals the interior while implying the rest of the world continues beyond the frame. Think of it like a slice of cake: the cut face tells you everything you need to know about what’s inside, without the footprint of the whole thing.

A full 1/35 scale 20-foot shipping container measures roughly 127mm long. The wedge gives you the corrugated walls, the door detail, the interior depth — all the storytelling elements — in a fraction of the space. The angled side walls use forced perspective to trick the eye into reading depth that isn’t physically there.

Kit Contents

• 1 × highly detailed 3D printed resin 20 foot shipping container wedge section
• All sides fully detailed with accurate corrugation
• 2 door options — closed doors with locked padlocks, or open doors with unlocked padlocks
• 4 × pre-cut Orafol 810 logo masks (one per livery, for each long side section)
• Logo painting instructions with Tamiya colour callouts for all four liveries

Liveries included: Maersk · Maersk Line · Evergreen · COSCO

The masks are cut from Orafol 810 — professional-grade masking film used in sign-making and automotive finishing. It seats firmly into corrugated surfaces for a crisp paint edge, then releases cleanly without lifting your base coat. Evergreen and COSCO are single-colour sprays. Maersk and Maersk Line are three-stage logos with separate mask elements for each stage — full instructions included. Because the logos are sprayed rather than decalled, washes, dry-brushing, and grime all sit naturally on the surface.

Diorama anchor — The open-door option turns the interior into a scene: a tactical operations cell, a field aid station, a black site. The wedge format frames it like a stage set.

Vignette base — Build outward from the wedge. A figure stacked against the exterior wall, rubble at the base, spent casings on the ground. The clean cut edges signal to the viewer that this is a window into a larger world.

Grouped scenes — Two wedge kits side by side or stacked suggest a container yard or FOB perimeter without the footprint of multiple full containers.

Compatible with: modern military dioramas · port and logistics scenes · urban combat builds · FOB base builds · competition vignettes

Shipping containers have been a fixture of forward operating bases, port logistics, airfield operations, and urban combat environments since the 1980s. Modern militaries use modified containers as concealed missile launch platforms, mobile command posts, field hospitals, and rapid-deployment weapons systems — the US Army’s Typhon mid-range missile system launches Tomahawk and SM-6 missiles from standard containers mounted on flatbed trucks, indistinguishable from civilian cargo at a distance.

COSCO, Maersk, Evergreen and Maersk Line containers move the majority of the world’s seaborne trade — making them the correct liveries for port, logistics, and urban diorama settings across any modern era. A single container can anchor an entire scene. A breached door in a Fallujah alley. A COSCO box unloaded dockside in Hong Kong. A pair of Evergreen containers forming a FOB perimeter wall. Pair with figures, vehicles, and stowage for maximum narrative impact.

3D printed in high-resolution resin. Some cleanup and assembly required.
