Thirty-three 3D-printed flexible resin grass tufts across four heights and eight shapes — with flexible tips that move and bend like the real thing.

A must-have for any modeller looking to lift the naturalism of their groundwork beyond static flock and painted bases.

Kit contains:
6 × extra tall tufts (5.5cm)
6 × tall tufts (4.5cm)
9 × medium tufts (3.5cm)
12 × short tufts (2.5cm)

Grass tufts are the foundation of convincing terrain. Found in every environment from sun-scorched fields to jungle clearings, dense clumps of grass break up bare ground, frame key scene elements, and give a diorama the kind of organic texture that flat texturing simply can’t achieve.

Paint them green for lush growth, yellow-brown for dry season, black-tipped for scorched earth, or mix colours to simulate the patchy transition between seasons.

Placement tips:
• Clustering: Never space them evenly. Group 3–5 tufts of varying sizes together for a natural, wild look.
• Verticality: Use the tallest tufts to represent reeds, tall weeds, or crops at the field edge.
• Layering: Place a small tuft directly on a larger one to create a multi-toned, dense bush effect.
• Colour mixing: Combine “dead” and “green” tufts to simulate seasonal transition or neglected terrain.
• Visual break: Position tufts in corners or near rocks to break up flat painted ground.
• Path definition: Line the edges of dirt roads or goat tracks to suggest foot traffic and worn ground.
• Environmental storytelling: Scorched tufts for battlefields, lush green for FOB perimeters, dry yellow for arid theatre builds.

Tamiya paint guide:
• Lush green / tropical: XF-5 Flat Green, XF-26 Deep Green, XF-67 NATO Green
• Temperate / spring-summer: XF-5 Flat Green base, XF-60 Dark Yellow highlights, XF-58 Olive Green
• Dry season / late summer: XF-60 Dark Yellow, XF-57 Buff, XF-15 Flat Flesh
• Autumn / dying grass: XF-60 Dark Yellow base, XF-64 Red Brown patches, XF-57 Buff tips
• Dead / winter: XF-57 Buff, XF-15 Flat Flesh, XF-55 Deck Tan
• Scorched / burnt: XF-64 Red Brown base, XF-1 Flat Black tips, XF-57 Buff ash highlights

Drybrush lighter colours upward from base to tip for natural fading. Work a wash of XF-64 Red Brown into the base of any tuft for depth and shadow. Mix two colours wet on the brush for uneven, patchy variation.
