Build realistic RPG standoff screening, vehicle stowage, or perimeter fencing with this highly detailed 1/35 scale chain-link fencing set.
Designed as a focused accessory for modellers who want to add field-expedient protection and improvised defensive details to their builds, this set covers the most versatile element from our Armoured Vehicle Defensive Position Kit — the chain-link fencing itself.
Kit Contents (1/35 Scale)
∙ 3 × Flexible chain-link fencing lengths
This versatile set can be used as:
∙ Rolled chain-link stowage secured to vehicles such as M113 APCs, trucks, or light armour
∙ Unrolled RPG standoff screening positioned around a vehicle in an overnight defensive position
∙ Perimeter fencing and ground reinforcement for base camps and temporary positions
During the Vietnam War, mechanised units commonly used chain-link fencing as improvised standoff armour — often referred to as “car ports.” Mounted 1–2 feet in front of vehicle hulls, the mesh was intended to disrupt or prematurely detonate the piezoelectric fuzes of incoming PG-7 series RPG rounds before impact.
Rolls of fencing were easy to transport and could be installed in minutes, making them a practical field modification. Chain-link was also widely used for perimeter fencing around base camps, often combined with pickets and barbed wire.
The same expedient principles continue to appear in modern conflicts, where units reinforce vehicles, harden overnight positions, and create temporary defensive screens using locally available materials.
The chain-link material is flexible and can be displayed rolled for vehicle stowage or unrolled to create defensive screening or perimeter fencing.
All components are 3D printed in high-detail resin and are supplied ready for cleanup, painting, and weathering.
