Standardised pallets and forklifts cut turnaround to under 24 hours, transforming Allied logistics across every theatre. In the Pacific, they were critical to the island-hopping campaign — keeping supplies moving across 5,000 miles of ocean in conditions where speed meant the difference between fresh rations and spoilage.
